MCT8316ZTEVM: How to output rotator position from the driver, how to realize position/torque/current control?

Hi,

We are driving a slotless BLDC motors using MCT316ZT. I understand that the driver can output speed, but does it also output rotator position? can I use the MCT8316ZT for position/torque/current control? if does, do you have any examples that I can refer to? FYI, the motor I am using has a gearbox. 

How about MCF8316A or MCF8316C? do they output motor position and capable of position/torque/current control on the motor?

    MCF8316C / D can be used for speed, torque control which are sensor less based FOC solution.

    No position control, what is the requirement for position control?

    Can you provide some more details about end application?

    Sorry, what is sensor sell based FOC solution? we are targeting for a position accuracy of 0.1 degree. the motor is integrated with a gearbox and the gearbox has a reduction ratio of 100:1. 

    BTW, what about DRV8316C. I know it offers the option for sensored FOC control. if I chose DRV8316, do I need to do PID tuning for the position control loop and current control loop by myself? does the GUI handle these parameter tuning by itself? is it similar to the MCF8316D that is code-free for implementation?

    That was typo error, sorry I did not verify.

    I wanted say sensorless FOC solution.

    DRV8316C needs external controller to implement FOC, this is driver + integrated FET without controller.

    You can explore C2000 or MSP motor ware examples.
