MCT8329A: I2C clock speed

Hi,

We are using the MCT8329A part in our project.

There are 3 ICs(MCT8329A) present in I2C bus and we are trying to read the speed from the status registers for every 500msec from those ICs. But sometimes we noticed that the speed is reading as 0.

We wanted to know the clock speed you recommend to keep? and frequency between the reads from each IC.

Also if we reduce clock speed do we still need to provide 100us delay between the bytes?

As we are using the STM32 there is no possibility of the providing the delay between each bytes at read time.

Please recommend the standard practice to follow when we read/write these ICs via I2C.

Thanks for the response.

Does the 100us delay required when we read the data from MCT8329A? or 100uS only applicable while writing(as its mentioned in state chart application note doc)?

Also, What is the min and max SCL speed the IC can work on?

what is the timeout host controller need to wait for theMCT8329A to respond for the data or ACK?

Hi Chandra,

1. Yes it is applicable for both read and write operations

2. Not sure about the minimum, what is the minimum you are targeting? Maximum is 400kHz
