My customer is experiencing issues using the MCF8316DEVM with TI Motor Studio V1.22.
Motor Studio will report errors randomly during read/writing to registers. Sometimes it loses connection with the EVM and is very difficult to get it to re-connect. Due to these errors they have not been able to make progress in setting their motor.
After many attempts to setup/tune the MCF8316D to our motor, the EVM now reports faults all the time and the red nFault LED flashes on the EVM all the time.
Since the EVM is in continuous fault mode, they can no longer run the motor. Is there a way to clear these EEPROM faults? When they press the Clear Fault button but the EEPROM errors will not clear.
