DRV8220: PH/EN Control Mode, tSLEEP & tAUTOSLEEP datasheet mistake?

Part Number: DRV8220

Tool/software:

Hi Team

Section 8.3.2.2 (PH/EN Control Mode) states that "if the EN pin remains low for longer than tSLEEP, the device goes into low-power sleep mode and the outputs are disabled.":

https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/drv8220.pdf

Is this a mistake, should it not be referring to tAUTOSLEEP (0.9-2.4ms) instead? Or have tSLEEP & tAUTOSLEEP been switched in the table below?:

Cheers, Anton

  • Hey Anton,

Yes, that should be tAUTOSLEEP not tSLEEP.

"Brake (low-side slow decay) for tAUTOSLEEP, then auto-sleep mode (H-bridge Hi-Z)"

Thanks for finding that! You can confirm it by measuring the device current with no load attached - the current should drop from ~1.5mA to <1uA after the tAUTOSLEEP.

    Best,

    Jacob
