MCT8329EVM: MCT8329EVM can't access to register on GUI

Hello,

I am using MCT8329EVM and I was tuning my brushless motor with adjusting some register...

Since yesterday i can't access to register, i get connection issue when i tried to read register. I can connect to board (microcontroller EXP430)to the GUI (bottom left of picture) :

But when i want to read register of the MCT8329 i have this message and the board disconnect :

I used latest GUI version 1.1.3

I was working for several days on this board, and know it seems to be broken... i also try to uninstall/reinstall software, reprog the exp430, reset board...

Can it be a damage on the chip itself ? or something else ?

Can we verify if the device is not in sleep mode? Do you see any difference in current?

Hi Kevin,

Could you try "Find Address" in "Start Guided Tuning" and let me know if it starts working?

Yes !! with find address my i2c was modify from 0x60 to 0x00 (i don't know why) now i can read and write on the device thanks

Do you know which parameters to set to allow a fast stop with the brake switch ?

I also have an issue, my motor "autostop" after around 1min, do you know why ?

Update of 13/06, i succeed to start and stop my motor, but I still have a stop after several second or 1/2 minutes i don't know why... current consumption seems to be good (no variation) I have deactivated most of the "control fault setting" there a security or a control on closed loop that can stop my motor ? thanks

Hi Kevin,

Can we start this discussion in new thread so that we can keep this thread topic not broken.

Before we switch to other thread, do not disable any fault. We need to find what is causing the fault.

If BEMF is not aligned with commutation, at apoint motor may stall due to lower torque application.

Can you share motor specification, rated current, speed details?
