DRV8343-Q1: 3.3V regular output

Part Number: DRV8343-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8329-Q1,

Tool/software:

Hi team,

For the 3.3V regular output of DRV8343-Q1 or DRV8329-Q1, can be used as a power supply for the external acceleration sensor?

The current of the sensor is within 1mA, but has a relatively large capacitance of 10uF. The customer is concerned that an overcurrent issue occurs when 3.3V is charging a 10uF capacitance.

Could you please help evaluate the risk in this using case?

Regards,

Ivy

  • Hi Ivy,

As you can see in the table below, the DRV8329-Q1 for example has 80mA max current draw. Since your sensor is only drawing 1mA it should be perfectly fine to use the regulator output. The 10uF cap should not cause overcurrent when charging.

    Thank you,

    Joseph
