DRV8000-Q1: inline current shunt amp

Hi team,

May I ask if the inline current shunt amp integrated in DRV8000-Q1 can be used for window lift control? Or for this application, the more suitable solution is external low side amp?

The customer is concerned that the current ripple and temperature drift can not meet the anti-trap requirements for the window lift.

We have seen our integrated CSA used for window lift control?

can you tell me once the accuracy requirements for anti pinch?

Do they have a previous solution that they can benchmark against?

We also have EVM's if they want to evaluate the CSA.

Hi Keerthi,

My customer is evaluating if the integrated inline CSA can be used for window lift control. Because the customer feedbacked that most of the solutions on the market are the low side CSA solution.

May I know what functional module is this inline CSA designed for? it is for power door, or something else?

Hi Ivy,

The gate driver is used for car window in drv8000-Q1, but if you look at our gate drivers it is also used in stuff like power seat. usually the Inline shunt allows you to monitor current during braking as well; this allows you to implement algorithms like ripple counting in seat and window applications.
