DRV8304: recommend part

Tool/software:

We need do 2kW，24V motor driver, Motor drive current 200A, RMS 75A, I find the datasheet of DRV8304 say Max Motor drive current only 50A,

Could you help recommend part number， thanks.

    Hello,

    The 50A that the datasheet of DRV8304 refers to is just an example of maximum current you would set in order to do other calculations seen further on in the datasheet, this is not the maximum current the part can handle.

    This is because the motor current flows through the MOSFETs, not the gate driver. As long as your MOSFET's can handle the motor current, and the device can drive the gates of the MOSFETs, then you should be able to use the DRV8304 for your application.

    Maximum current would be a consideration in gate drivers with integrated mosfet's, but since this is simply a gate driver, the motor current is not a limiting factor.
