does the MCF8329A allow changing the gate drive strength (sink/source) internally through registers?

Hi Adam,

No, we have to use external gate resistor.

Please refer to the hardware guide lines section note the data sheet.

MCF8329A cam source max 1A and sink 2A, if need to reduce use the gate resistor appropriately .
