Tool/software:
Hello Team,
is it possible to the EXT_OVP bit to 1 while I already have a OV condition? Or do I have to clear it first and then set EXT_OVP bit to 1?
Best Regards,
Markus

Hi Markus,
Interesting question, please allow me a day to validate this in lab. I will aim to provide an update by Monday at the latest.

Joshua
Hi Markus,
I tested this in lab, the EXT_OVP bit can be changed if an OV fault condition has been met already. What will happen is once the initial OVP condition is met the nFAULT pin will be pulled low, the OVP bit in IC_STATUS will be set, and all half-bridges will be disabled. Once the EXT_OVP bit is changed to the higher setting, the nFAULT pin will be reset to high and all half-bridges will no longer be disabled. The OVP bit in the IC_STATUS register will still need to be cleared with a CLR_FLT command to set this bit back low even after EXT_OVP is changed.

Joshua
Hi Joshua,
that makes it very clear.
Many thanks for testing and answering this so quickly! Appreciate it.

Markus
