Hi Chase,
This is estimated current, it is pretty close and works when motor is driving.
The accuracy is affected due to dead time effects.
This is not hardware based measurement and hence we do not characterize it.
Thanks and Best regards

Dear Venkatadri,
Thank you for your support.
I understand that the accuracy depends on the specification of external FET. Am I right?
Then do you have any specific value of this accuracy based on MCF8329RRYEVM or MCF8329AEVM?
Best regards,
Chase
Dear Venkatadri,
Thank you for your support.
Please let me know if there is an update about the issue above.
Best regards,
Chase
Hi Chase,
Bus current is not directly measured by MCF8329A. it is calculated from motor phase current that we measure through external shunt resister.
There are couple of EEPROM configurations like "single shunt blanking time" and "digital dead time" can also influence the bus current calculation which why we can't specify the bus current accuracy here.
Thanks,
Dhinesh
