MCF8329A-Q1: Operation when PWM duty is 100%

Dear TI experts,

My customer tests MCF8329A-Q1 in their own PCB.

In that test they need to operate the motor with 100% maximum speed if PWM duty cycle is 100%.

-> If the customer set DUTY_OFF2 register as 255 and set PWM duty cycle as 100%, Can the motor operate with maximum 100% speed?

or it can be operate abnormal due to DUTY_OFF2 register(255)?

Hi Chase,

Speed profile is the feature which user can enable by setting this bit (REF_PROFILES1->REF_PROFILE_CONFIG). This is mainly used for having specific motor speed for a specific duty command. Please refer device datasheet "Input Control Reference Profiles" chapter for more details. if user just need 100% speed for 100% duty command, they can choose simple reference mode by making REF_PROFILES1->REF_PROFILE_CONFIG = 0.
