DRV8412 fast decay with RESET pin

Hi,

I want to use DRV8412 in fast decay mode. my understanding from datasheet is that RESET_AB and RESET_CD pins are for fault clearing purpose. Is my understanding correct? Can I assert those pins to disable the output and decay the current? Or, I have to toggle both outputs to apply the minus supply voltage to decay the current. please advise.

    Gordon,

    The function of the /RESET_x pins is to HIZ the outputs.  Therefore, for fast decay, you don't want to use the /RESET pins.  You would need to toggle the outputs using the input pins.  For slow decay, you would just bring both inputs LOW.
