DRV8434A: Will setting the STL_TH pin to 0V reliably disable stall detect?

Part Number: DRV8434A

Tool/software:

In my system I have the STL_MODE pin tied to VDD to enable stall detection. If I wanted to disable stall detection for any reason, would setting the STL_TH pin to 0V reliably do that? Or is a 330K resistor from the STL_MODE pin to ground the only way to do this?

  • Hi Kenneth,

To 100 % reliably disable stall detection, stall function must be digitally disabled. The suggested stall function disable is to connect STL_MODE pin to GND. Tying the STL_TH to 0 V with stall enabled will most likely not detect stall whatsoever. But we cannot say it may be 100 % reliably ignore stall detected output. Thank you.
