DRV8214: PWM work on 200kHz, Output waveform shape is not standard

Part Number: DRV8214

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

Customer use 50kHz PWM and 200kHz PWM to run the DRV8214EVM. First capture is 200kHz, and second is 50kHz PWM. Customer questions are why the AOUT1 and AOUT2 looks like triangular waveform during decay. Could you pls share the reason and how to improve it? Thanks!

Rayna

  • Hi Rayna,

This is likely because you are switching between a Forward and Coast mode. During Coast the outputs go Hi-Z. It's suggested to drive between Forward and Brake mode, which should pull the outputs low.

Try holding IN1 high and PWM on IN2.

    Best,

    David
