MCT8329A: Motor setting during register re-write via I2C

Part Number: MCT8329A

Tool/software:

Hi team,

Can the motor be in operation (spinning) when doing write/read to the resisters via I2C? When writing to the EEPROM of MCT8329A, the datasheet specifies that the motor should not be spinning (DS 7.6.1). Are there any similar restriction for changing the resister setting by I2C (not written into EEPROM)?

Best,

Yu

  • Hi Yu,

All RAM register settings can be modified while the motor is running, but in the case of EEPROM settings, which we communicate through a shadow (RAM), modification should be avoided.

Which particular register bit field do you want to update while the motor is running?

    Thanks,

    Dhinesh
