DRV8703D-Q1: SH Pin Leakage

Part Number: DRV8703D-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8106-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello apps team,

We need to detect a shorted MOSFET condition in the bridge that is driven by a DRV8703D-Q1.

The plan is to turn both FETs OFF and bias the output to Vs/2 with resistors.  The resistors need to be low enough to overcome the leakage in the SH pin.

The leakage was measured around 2.5mA into the SH pin.  This value is not in the datasheet. Has it been characterized in any way?

Can you establish a limit on this from the design?

Best regards,

  • For more background, this is when the half bridge is in tri-state mode in table 4 with the modes and PWM control.

    Best,

  • Hi,

Thank you for your questions. Could you share your customer's name (Tier1/OEM) and application use case(e.g seat position control). You are posting on public E2E.

DRV8703D-Q1 is old gen device and new gen DRV8106S-Q1 was released ~5years ago. For new platform design, DRV8106-Q1 is recommended. New device has functional advantage and lower device cost.

If you have further questions, recommend to post on internal E2E.

    regards

    Shinya
