I am using the DRV8873H-Q1EVM in Phase/Enable Mode to drive a brushed DC motor.
The maximum motor current I need to measure is 5.5A, so I used 1kOhm Sense resistors as recommended in the datasheet.
The ITRIP Pin is tied to GND, so ITRIP should be set to 6.5A.
But ITRIP is not working. I can draw currents up to 12A.
I switched the R(sense) resistors to 560Ohm, so the current can be measured up to ~10A.
Now ITRIP is working.
But according to the typical application it should also work with the 1k resistor.
Because they also use the "bigger" R(sense) resistor -> Imax = (1100*5)/1.5kOhm = 3.7A
But Trip-Point is still set to 6.5A.
So my question is if there is a dependency between ITRIP and R(sense), or if there is an error in the typical application.
