DRV8145-Q1: VM decoupling capacitor

Part Number: DRV8145-Q1

Hi

Is it possible to replace the 10uF/100V electrolytic capacitor (C1) used in the DRV8145H-Q1EVM kit
by a 10uF ceramic capacitor? In this case, would it still be necessary to place a 100nF ceramic
capacitor in parallel?

  • Hi Gilberto,

The 10uF cap is a bulk cap and can be replaced with a ceramic capacitor if needed. The 10uF can also be replaced with a different value cap that better suits your systems need if possible.

The 100nF is required for the device to operate as expected. The 100nF cap also should be placed as close to the device as possible.

    Regards,
