DRV8833 Resistor Watt ratings for Aisen/Bisen current control.

The eval board shows rather large resistors but as I could not locate a BOM, I don't know what watt ratings you got.

If I use a 200mA (1ohm) I would need a 2 watt resistor? (to allow the max 10v)

If I use a 1.33Amp (0.15ohm)  at 10v I would need a 14watt Resistor?

WOW they cost more than the IC.

  • Tony,

    BOM is attached.  I thought that was in the user guide, but was mistaken.  Sorry about that.  If you look up the part, you will see it is a 1W resistor which is more than enough for the 1.33A case with 0.15mohm value.  We tend to be conservative on the EVMs.

    P = I^2 * R = 1.33*1.33 * 0.15 = 0.265W
