DRV8302

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8302, DRV8301

Hello TI experts,

Im very interesting DRV8302 or DRV8301 device. Now, Im trying DRV8302 performance with my original PCB.

Unfortunately, there was a problem that the over voltage protection acted at input voltage Vi = 14V.

My system have to work Vi = 8V to 16V ranges without any protections or faults.

In PCB, external capacitance on GVDD pin is set to CGVDD = 2.2uF±10% (recommended value).

How can I prevent this problem? Please give me your valuable advice.

  • Abdukadir,

There must be some problem with your circuit as I do not see this on our EVM.  How do you know it is "over voltage" protection you are seeing?  With the DRV8302, there is really no way to tell.

I suspect some other form of protection is engaging.

Can you share your schematic?  There is no reason the device should not work over your desired voltage range.

We also have an EVM that would help you along.
