help with stepper motor driver selection ;high current (2.6 A)

I am looking for suggestion regarding selection of appropriate stepper motor driver(bipolar). Following are the requirements specs of the stepper motor:

operating voltage	2.33VDC
Current/Phase	2.6A
Power Consumption	14W
Resistance/phase	0.9 ohm

- need to maintain the motor in the hold position for long hours (>6hrs.)

Also if possible would like to have a stall detection feature present in the IC. Will be driving the stepper motor driver using msp430 device.

Any help in this regards would be great!

How about the DRV8412?

I have got a prototype implemented using the A4983(http://www.allegromicro.com/Products/Motor-Driver-And-Interface-ICs/Bipolar-Stepper-Motor-Drivers/A4983.aspx)

This one just needs a step/direction pins to control the operation. Is there a one with similar operational feature?

I like the DRV8834, but like the A4983, it is a little light on the continuous current requirements you mention.
