DRV8834 cad file

Unfortunately, I do not have a file like this for the DRV8834.  Our EVM is done using Altium.  I could provide that if it would be helpful.

Which package were you looking for?  PWP (leaded package) or RGE (QFN)?

I am looking for the RGE (VQFN), but if you have both i could use both because i am working with a very small pcb and trying different routings would be helpful, but in reality i can use either but if you can only send me one i would definitely rather it be the RGE.

We don't like a 8834 model, but you can import the generic RGE model at the link below and just change the pin names.

Scroll down to the CAD section and follow the instructions to import.  We have verified it with Alitium and it imports.

Please see my original post just above yours.  We don't have one specifically for the DRV8834. 

Please go to the link and you can import a generic symbol for the package into the tool of your choice.  You will just need to change the pin names.

You can find the "DRV8834EVM_DesignFiles" inside the package which including Altium source files of schematic, PCB and library.

The DRV8833 appears to have the same footprint as the DRV8834.

Please confirm that the footprint is the same using the datasheets. If it will work for you, go to the link http://webench.ti.com/cad/

Type in DRV8833 in the search window and .bxl file will appear. This file is a generic file that required Ultra Librarian to convert to the layout package desired. The instructions are on the webpage.

Thanks for your help, but the DVR8833 appears to only have 16 pins, rather than the 24 pins for DVR8834. Any suggestions on a different driver with the same footprint?

Sorry, and thanks for double checking. Unfortunately, you have two choices. One is to take the DRV8833 and modify it for the extra pins, or try to convert the Altium footprint in the EVM support files.

The Altium footprint can be found by searching for the DRV8834EVM.  Under the software heading, the board files exist. There is a library file which contains the altium footprint of the DRV8834.

I am not aware of any software to convert. In in the interim, I may have another alternate solution for footprint using Ultra Librarian.

Search for TPS7 in the search window. The results will show several devices that have the PWP_24 footprint in .bxl format. Perhaps one of these (I have not examined them) is easier to use for the DRV8834.

The CAD/CAE symbols are being updated to add the DRV8834 and other missing ones. Please continue to check the link http://webench.ti.com/cad/.

Once at the link, type in the part number and press submit. If the symbol and layout exists, it can then be converted from Ultra Librarian to many of the common layout formats.
