BLDC Direct Drive Washing Machine Motor

Hi, I need to evaluate and drive a BLDC direct drive wasing machine motor on a rig similar to a washing machine to determine maximum torque, vibration and movement of the rig from around 30rpm up to 1600rpm and do not have the motor parameters.

The motor is very similar looking to that pictured on page 2 of the TI Motor and Drive Control Solutions Brochure.

Very impressed by the info on TI's new Instaspin and driver kits but as a mechanical engineer with very little electrical engineering knowledge I would be grateful of some advice in choosing the correct evaluation kit.

Andrew,

Look for a new announcement and new kit on Tuesday. This will be what you want to start with. If you did buy this kit, you will be able to purchase a new controlCARD and re-use the HVMTR kit.

Thank you Ryan and Chris,

We have ordered the kit as advised by Ryan but it will not be shipped until early March.

Therefore, in light of Chris's comment, should I hold fire on the old kit and purchase the new one? When will the new one be ready for shipping or do I need to wait for Tuesdays announcement and is the new kit a big advance on the old one?

Andrew,

The new kits will be in our stock on Tuesday (+/- a day) and will ship immediately. As mentioned, it's the exact same HVKIT, just has a new controlCARD that is enabled with new functionality that you absolutely will want to evaluate for your washing machine motor, I promise you. :)

I would evaluate on Tuesday and then cancel / order the new one.
