DRV8825 error

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8825

Hello all,

I try to use DRV8825 with bipolar stepper motor. I have 1 problem. Everything is fine in full-step mode, but when I use micro-steps after some steps driver stops. nfault pin is high so there is no temperature or undervoltage error.

Do you have any idea what would cause this issue?

Best regards,

Mikolaj

edit.

I've changed a reference voltage for lower and it works ok.

  • Mikolaj,

Are you stepping at the same speed in both micro-step and full-step modes?  For example, in 1/2 step mode...you will need to issue STEP commands at 2x the frequency to achieve the same speed as full step.

Are you following the schematic and layout of our EVM?  What decay mode are you using?  I would recommend mixed mode which means the DECAY pin is left floating.
