DRV2603EVM -CT Problem

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV2603, DRV2603EVM-CT

Hello,

I bought DRV2603EVM-CT and MSP430LauchPad.  When I connected them via SBW,  DRV2603 doesnt work. The Power LED(5V) was on but nothing happens.

Then, I connected DRV2603EVM  with Laptop via USB.  The demo on board doesn't work either.

I have no idea what is the problem.

Can anyone help ?

  • I got mine a couple of days ago and it worked fine....

Maybe your jumper settings are not right?... If you have a voltmeter then its worth a try to Probe VBAT on DRV2603 or Capacitor C1 and also MSP430 3.3V on Capacitor C10. This will ensure you have the Supply on the devices.

  • Hi,

How to set up jumpers correctly???

I tried to use VBAT and measure the voltage with voltmeter. The power supply worked well, but when i run the code, nothing happened:(

Is it wrong with the code itself??  I download the code from IT website,  should be fine.

    thanks

  • Xueqing,

Sorry you are having trouble. Let me see if I can give you some guidance.

You may have accidentally overwritten the code on the DRV2603EVM-CT.  If so, it will need to be reprogrammed.  Please download the source code from TI.com and install CCS.  Setup a project with the source code and try to program the board.

    1. For jumper settings, make sure that 'MSP' and 'DRV' are set to USB and plug in a USB cable to the USB port on the DRV2603EVM-CT.  FYI, the USB port on the EVM-CT is only for power.
    2. Then plug in the LaunchPad board to the SBW.
    3. You may need to remove the jumpers on the LaunchPad nearest the mini SBW connector to prevent interference with the onboard MSP430.

Let me know if this helps.

    Thanks,
    Brian

  • Brian,

Thanks so much. It works now.

Just find out that the SBW connector is too easy to break. Mine is a little broken.

    many thanks
