DRV8837 Sleep Output State

All,

A customer has inquired about the DRV8837 sleep function.  The question is, "In the data sheet,  it says if the nSLEEP pin is low all the unnecessary internal circuitry is powered down.   I know logic changes to the input pins will be ignored after SLEEP is asserted, but do the output pins always go to HiZ state regardless of the state of the input pins when sleep is asserted?  This seems logical, but the data sheet does not explicitly say this."

Any assistance you could provide is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Adam

  • Hi Adam

Yes. You are right. Just note that the sleep current is nA level, this can be achieved only when all the outputs are in HiZ state. So no matter what input is when SLEEP is entered, output will be HiZ.

    Thanks.
