ACIM RDK Speed control

I am trying to control the frequency/speed of my ACIM-RDK through an external sensor with analog DC voltage output.  For example a hall sensor or IR distance senor controlling the target frequency.  I have read through the literature, and it seems that I need to use the tach and another encoder for the sensor?  

Any help with where to start / some reading material would be great.

    Are you using the Stellaris RDK-ACIM kit?  If so, all the details are available on the product page.  Software, literature etc.

    If not, then a search of the internet for motor speed control or motor frequency control will show plenty of designs, tutorials and literature.
