HV Motor Ctrl. Kit - Current Sensing

Hi,

I am using HV Motor Development Kit + F28335 control card. I noticed that phase - B current measurement is more noisier than phase-A measurement. In addition I noticed that ADC-B4 line, on the control card, is put through the passive filter but ADC-B6 line, where phase-B is measured, is not.

This must be the problem! What should I do? Can anyone comment please!

Thank you very much,

Ljubisa.

  • Hi Ljubisa,

From our HV kit schematic, I see that the current signals U, V and W are connected to B3, B5 and A5 respectively and from our x335 cc schematic, see the filters for these signals.

In all versions of F28335 cc, only A6, A7, B6 and B7 dont have filters. So basically I cant figure out how you have such a card.

But if what you see is right, your inference is also right. You might need to add some filter similar to other ADC inputs.

  • Hello Ramesh,

Thanks for your replay. I am using older version of HV kit, the one which is designated as V1.7(green PCB), in control Suite. Your connectivity description refers obviously to the newer version.

Can you please, let me know what other improvements the newer HV kit  has, related to sensorless operation.

    Thank you very much.

  • Ljubisa,

I thought you had some issue with the control card. Well.  We dont support R5 kit anymore. From a control software standpoint, there is not much difference except for reassignment of IOs. The hardware has some additional protections for PWM inputs to inverters to disable active pulsing of both HI and LO inputs. Recommend you to review the latest R1.1 schematics from our control suite.
