Hej

I would like to use the DRV8332 to drive a Peltier (TEC) element.

We are already using the DRV8332 to control a 3 phase Brushless DC motor. So i want to use DRV8332 again since we already have it in the design.

Is it possible to use it with only 1 phase so you only use PWM A channel without disturbing the PWM B and C channel and can you leave the OUT_B and OUT_C unconnected.

Hi Brian,

The DRV8332 does allow for independent control of the 3 half bridges. The chip would seem like overkill though if you only want to utilize 1 half bridge. What kind of power/voltage requirements are you looking at?

Thanks for your quick response.

Yes it is overkill to use it like that. The requirements are voltage 24V PWM and current 8A.

I will look for another component which is more suitable to control the TEC.
