On DRV8837, I would like to apply power to VM only and not deal with VCC. In order to "remove" VCC - does pin just remain disconnected from the circuit? Or something more? Read this comment and do not understand meaning...

Ashley,

You MUST provide VCC for the device to function. What is your max. voltage? If it is less than 7V, than you can tie VCC and VM together. Max. voltage range is 7V on VCC.

Max voltage is less than 7V in my design. I want to take advantage of low-power option(ie. SLEEP). Can low-power state be acheived with VCC and VM tied together? What does it mean to "remove VCC" in this post and in datasheet...

When VCC is removed, the device enters a low-power state and draws very little current from VM.

Ashley,

If you tie VCC and VM together, you can use the /SLEEP pin to put the part in a low current state.

If you do not apply VCC, then the part will automatically enter the sleep state.
