Why the UC3770A always heats up?

Dear Friends,

Does anyone have experience in using the UC3770A as the driver of a stepper motor? I've tried to evaluate this case, but the UC3770A always heats up when I turned on the power. It's very hot.  Any suggestion  will be appreciated.
