Hello,

I am using the sample project that is provided with the hercules motorware package and I have a few questions:

1. When viewing the graphs that come with the project what are they measuring and what are the base units. By base units I mean that the data is normalized and what is the value the data is being normalized to?

2. How can I graph voltage, speed, and current? And once I graph this data, how can I save the data to a text file?

I know that the kit comes with a couple graphs already configured, but in this document, it says there is a way to create other graphs on pages 13-16

here is a picture of the graphs I want to create, or if not these then other voltage and current measurements of the motor

Hi,

I am not to familiar with the Hercules BLDC project so I will not be able to assist much here.

It looks like they used CCS Graphing to generate the plots. You can check out this link to learn more. The variables should all be available in the firmware.

Hey Nick,

Thanks this was what I was looking for. Now suppose I want to graph the motor's current in CCS

and this is one of the defined expressions I found in either gui.h or gui.c: "gGUIObj.IMotor"

do you know if this will give me the motor current and how could I use the video example to accomplish this?

If you think I should talk to a different forum that's fine, just let me know.

Hi Nate,

I did some more digging around in the Hercules project. Are you running the application through CCS or the GUI Composer App? This will help me to direct you in the right direction.

That is the correct object for motor current, now you just need to bind it to the GUI Composer widget and ensure the correct scaling is in place. They call the scaling function Pre/Post Processing.

Unfortunately GUI Composer does not support data logging at the moment. I believe the next version (v6) will have this feature added.
