Hello,

Currently we are using DRV8825 driver to drive 1.7 A Stepper Motor.

To increase the performance, we are planning to use 2.5A Stepper Motor / 2.55V

Are there any drop-in replacement driver

can you suggest us the driver that can provide all the functionality of DRV8825 plus higher current.

Hi Vijeendra,

There is no drop-in replacement with higher current available.

There are several drivers that have higher current, but do not have all the functionality. The DRV8829 and DR8842 have the higher current, but require 2 drivers per stepper and do not not contain the indexer logic.

Hi Vijeendra,

There is another device that may also fit. Please look at the DRV8711, a stepper pre-driver with internal indexer. This device requires external FETs.

There is a booster pack version of this device available for evaluation.

Hi Rick,

I guess, we are not using the function Indexer logic. Then are there any alternative parts, but because of space/cost constraint, we can't use two drivers per stepper.

Hello Rick,

DRV8711 specs meets requirements, but using external FET is an constraint.
