DRV8412-C2-KIT troubleshooting

Good afternoon,


I have a DRV8412-C2-KIT,  I connected all as described in the Quick styart guide, but I have a failure.

First of all, the GUI  DRV8412GUIv9.exe  communicates with the board
(When the board is not powered, the indicator 'Fault status' on the GUI is grey, when the board is connected, the indicator 'Fault status' on the GUI is green)

but although I have 24V volts on the board (and the LD3 of the board is correctly blinking red), the indicator on the 'DC bus' indicator on the GUI remains grey?

and then the motor do not spin

    I understand that I have to reload  DRV8412GUIv9.out  in the board

    I have load CCSv5 from the web
    - Is that OK or should I use CCSv4 absolutely ?

    I tried to load DRV8412GUIv9.out with CCSv5,

    but  I have a license problem

    .I understood to load an out file in a development kit I did not need to have a license?

    Stephane,

    You target configuration is not correct. For DRV8412-kit, you should choose TMS320F28035 as target and Texas Instruments XDS100v1 USB Emulator, as explained in How to run guide.

    Good afternoon,

    ok, thanks for that, it is all work now

    Here are the different step:

    Install controlSuite
    - part specific of the kit DRV8412-C2-KIT
    - driver XDS100 v1.0 to connect over USB

    - Loading and installing CCSv4 from
    http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Download_CCS

    Power off the board, and put SW3 in position OFF
    Power on the board, (24V and USB cable)

    Openning CCSv4
    Instruments XDS100v1 USB Emulator
    TMS320F28035 as target

    Follow the steps described in controlSuite


    Loading the out file DRV8412GUIv2.out

    Power on the board, and put SW3 in position ON
    Power on the board, (24V and USB cable)

    Calling DRV8412GUIv9.exe

    All is working !
