DRV8432 CBC CURRENT LIMIT

I have a question regarding the operation of DRV8432, which is used as one channel +/-14A, or two channel +/-7A TEC Peltier driver in CBC current limit mode.  Power supply voltage is 48V.

The circuit is the same as evaluation board except output filter has L=15uH, C=22uF. AGND and PGND are connected together (data sheet page 18).

I made five pcbs. Three of them are working OK. On two remainig boards I got a problem related CBC current limit which starts working already at 6.5A only in one direction. At the other current direction CBC starts working at 7.2A.

On both circuits this error occurs on channel D. The overcurrent resistor has 24k.

If you have any idea what is the problem here I would appreciate any help.

  • Hi Davor,

Can you compare a working board versus a non-working board looking for differences? Is there extra noise on channel D? Is there a bad connection? Are you using the same load, power supply, etc. on both working and non-working boards?

If you are still having trouble, please provide scope captures of a working versus non-working board. Also if you can provide schematics and layout, that may be helpful.

    Thanks.
