how to know if a stepper motor is supported by the BOOST-DRV8711?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BOOST-DRV8711, DRV8711

does it support any 4 wire 2 phase bipolar stepper motor? or it has some limitations on Electrical Specifications for the supported bipolar stepper motor?

for example, does it support all the modles in the following table:

  • Hi Ke Fan,

The Boost-DRV8711 is designed to control all of the models listed and many other stepper motors.

In general, if the rated current is less than 4.5A, there should be no problem.

There may be some tuning required for best operation. Please note the application notes in the DRV8711 Technical Documents tab.

  • Hi Ke Fan,

Generally the current rating is the most important factor for the motor driver or motor drive circuit.

The BOOST-DRV8711 can support up to 4.5A continuous so I would generally recommend motors rated at or below this for optimum effiiciency.

In short, it can drive any of the motors listed above.
