DRV8802 internall pull ups / pull downs

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8802

Hello,

I would like to know if DRV8802 has internal pull up / pull down resistors for xPHASE, xENBL, nSLEEP, nFAULT, nRESET, xI0, xI1,

The EVAL board does not include external reistors at these pins.

Is it safe to have external resistors here?

What is the  max current capability of these pins ?

  • Hi Anuja

There are 100k pull down resistors on xPHASE, xENBL, nSLEEP, nRESET and xI0, xI1.

All above pins are input pins with high impedance. You can connect voltage source to those pins directly or with serial resistors just make sure the H/L range of the pins matching the datasheet. No need to care about the current capability.

nFAULT is an Open Drain output should be connected to external pull up resistor. It is recommended to make the turn on current < 5mA. So for 3.3V logic, please use pull up >= 660 ohm.

    Best regards,
