Speed & abnormal high current - DRV10983

I connected the DRV10983 board to USBANY and spent some time tuning it with a HDD Spindle motor.

No matter how I tried I could get the speed beyong 1400rpm. At 12V, the no load current was 0.6A.

Something I missed or any recommendations?

    Hello,

    Can you help with below data.

    1.         Motor resistance phase to center tap

    2.         Velocity constant; V/Hz

    3.         Rated voltage sped of motor and rated speed and rated current at this voltage

    4.         Number of pole

    5.         DRV10983 GUI basic & advance page setting, chosen by you

    Hi,

    No matter how I configure the max speed still below 2840rpm
    Motor resistance phase to center tap: 2.9ohm
    Velocity constant; V/Hz: 130
    Rated voltage sped of motor and rated speed and rated current at this voltage: 12V, 0.6A
    Number of pole: 8

    Hello,

    Can you clarify about velocity constant units? 130V/Hz means to run motor 1Hz ~15rpm , 130V is required, this does not make any sense. Also, if I assume it as 0.130V/Hz, means at 12V motor will reach at 92.3Hz ~1384rpm only.
