DRV8302 dual current shunt amps usage with a single current shunt

Hi all,

Is it possible to use the DRV8302 with a single current shunt? Should then the dual current amps be paralleled or only one of them can be used?

Hi Aram,

This is quite common. You should use a single CSA and configure the unused CSA in unity gain configuration for lowest power consumption.

The gain of the current amp is fixed either 10 or 40, if I am not mistaken, but not 1 as you suggested. Do you mean to use lowest possible gain (10)?

I suppose that it is ok to short and ground the inputs of the unused amplifier, is that correct?

Sorry, my mistake. Correct, the lowest setting. It is also OK to GND the inputs.
