DRV8805 Output Sequence

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8805

Hi

My customer is using DRV8805.
He uses DRV8805 with 2 phase excitation.
He has the following question.
Could you answer this questions?

1. Which step on the table will be DRV8805 by "DIR=0->DIR=1"?
After supplying voltage to VM, He sets DIR=1 and input 2 pulse to step pin.
This time, I think DRV8805's status is "CW step3" at "table 3 2-Phase Excitation (Full-Step)".
Then, He sets nENBL=1 and DIR=0.
His question is DRV8805's step at this stuation.

Does DRV8805 become "CCW to home(step1)"?
Does DRV8805 become "CCW step3"?
Which is correct?

2. Could you tell me "Step procedure at CCW"
When DIR is Low, Which step on the table 3 will the next step of "CCW step1" be?
I think "1 -> 4 -> 3 -> 2(this is all CCW)". Is it correct?

Best regards
Shimizu

  • Hi Shimizu-san,

    CCW step 3 is correct. Changing DIR and ENBL does not reset the indexer

    2. Could you tell me "Step procedure at CCW"
    When DIR is Low, Which step on the table 3 will the next step of "CCW step1" be?
    I think "1 -> 4 -> 3 -> 2(this is all CCW)". Is it correct?

    Yes, when DIR is Low, the next step after step 1 is step 4.

  • Hi Rick-san

     Thank you for your support.

     I understood.

    Thanks
