Hi,

we are using DRV8825 for a stepper motor of Sanyo Denki which runs on 1A and 4.5 v Par number is " 103h5210-5240 ".

We are unable to find the formula or other calculation for Vm supply which ranges from 8.5v to 45v and how to set Vref to set Current rating.

Please support in providing guidelines to solve this issue.

Hi Uma,

This is a typical stepper with 1A current level.

Just use DRV8825, and set the current level using the formula I=Vref/(5*Rsense)

In micro stepping mode, to get 1A rms level, please use I_max = 1A*1.41 = Vref/(5*Rsense).
In Full step mode, the device will automatically regulate the current at 0.71*I_max, so still you can get 1A rms without change the I_max setting in all stepping mode.
