DRV2700 GUI Interface download missing?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV2700, DRV2700EVM

Hello,

I recently purchased a DRV2700EVM, and am looking for the GUI application mentioned in the datasheet.  This is not on either page for the DRV2700EVM or the DRV2700 (the manual suggests it should be here).

Thank you in advance for your help

Aaron

  • Hello Aaron,
Yes, you are correct and am sorry about that. We are having some difficulties getting it up on the site, however it has been submitted as of yesterday and should be up online in a few days.
  • For reference, the Piezo Control Console can be found here http://www.ti.com/tool/piezo-console

  • Hello Rodney,

I need your advice. I've purchased DRV2700EVM recently. I cannot get the GUI (Piezo Control Console) working properly. It looks that it's always in Simulator mode. Although, when I click on the "Connect" button, I can see the following in the bottom status line:
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Device: DRVXXXX Board: 0.TI-Haptics-DRV2700EVM-K v1.1 Connection: USBHID.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Piezo Control Console version that is installed on my desktop is 1.2.9.0 .

I tried it on two computers: Windows 10 and Windows 7 machines. No result.

If I connect to the board (by button "Connect") and then go to "Console" trying to select my board, I always have an error window "Unhandled exception has occured..." .
Only in "Simulator" mode I can select my board "DRV2700EVM" from the list of two options after I click on "Console" menu item. But after that, I'm always in "Simulator" mode - nothing happens with the DRV2700 chip control.

The Console window top bar says only "DRV2700 Console: DRV2700EVM -- Simulator".

It's never as shown in Fig.7 on page 11 of your document "SLOU403B–March 2015–Revised April 2015 DRV2700EVM High Voltage Piezo Driver Evaluation Kit 1", that is (as it should probably be): "DRV2700EVM -- USBHID".

    Please, help.
    Thanks in advance.
    Serge.
  • After I posted my question, I found the advise to upgrade the firmware in one of the forum topics.
After I upgraded the firmware from v1.1 to v1.7 - it started working somehow. So, please, disregard my question. Thanks.
