Hi,

I am using DRV8432DKDEVM evaluation board with parallel mode (i.e. MODE 3 M3 - 0, M2-1, M1-0)and have interfaced (GND, PWM 01, PWM 02) TMS320F28335 development board for providing PWM pulses.

The issue i am facing is whenever i switch on the PVDD signal (i.e 15Volt or 48 volt) input PWM signal gets distorted. and same when i off the PVDD supply it comes back.

NO error ( over current , over temp etc ) is occurred during this period. the signals at FAULT and OTW are constantly HIGH state.

Hardware wise i have connected the PWM signal from controller to board using wires.

Let me know if we can connect an external controller to generate PWM signal to this board?

Hi Nandakumar,

Yes, you can connect an external controller to generate the PWM signals. The grounds should be tightly tied or some type of translator should be used to cross from the digital to power domain.

Can you describe the distortion in more detail or provide scope captures? Even though the signal may look distorted, the device should work assuming the Vil and Vih are met.

Hi Nandkumar,

The input does look distorted.

Where is the ground reference of the scope during these measurements?
How are the grounds connected between the DRV8432 board and the external controller?

I have connected the scope between tms320f28335 board PWM A pin no GPIO 00 and GND of same board.
