Hi,

I'm developing a driver software to drive a solenoid.

I have bought the DRV8313 EVM and has provided supply to the board, rated (2A @ 12V) and all the jumper connections and the USB connections are good.

Initially the connection to the board is established and the blinking of green and light green occurs. After 4 to 5 sec the connection is lost and blinking of green and red occurs. Finally after 10 attempts to connect, a message is displayed "Please check your Hardware connections".

Can anybody please help me with this? Am I missing any kind of clue here.

Hi Panchakshari,

Some of the EVMs are missing a connection on the USB connector. We have had reports that some systems are affected by this.

Please see the post ( LINK ) for more details.

Let us know if the connection described is there. If not, please try adding a solder bridge between pins 4 and 5 of the USB connector as Christos described in the post.

Hi Rick Duncan,

Ya i had checked this link. Seems like the Bridge is present. But still the connection with the GUI on computer system is unstable. Please let me know any further issues is causing this?

Hi Panchakshari,

Do the GUI always connect and then disconnect after 4 to 5 seconds? Or can you no longer connect at all?

Are you spinning the motor or doing anything else when the GUI disconnects?

What kind of PC/system are you using?

Hi Nick,

Yes the GUI connects every time and disconnect after 4 to 5 seconds.

I tried operating a solenoid valve and also tried without connecting any load. But i have not tried with a motor connected(I feel any load would do good with it.)

I'm using Macbook pro with windows 7 running and I have also tried on HP machine with windows 7 running .

I'm still trying new ways to connect. But unable to do so.
Need Help !!!

Can you try removing the 12V power supply and just leave the USB cable. Then try and connect the GUI. I want to rule out if noise from the power supply is causing an issue.

The USB and MSP430 are powered from the USB cable.

Hi Panchakshari,

Can you take a zoomed in picture of the USB connector solder bridge and post here? Sorry for the delay. We are trying to determine potential sources of this issue.

Tried a lot. But, was unable to solve it.
So desoldered the zero ohm jumpers and used DRV from external microcontroller.
