DRV8412 max PVDD

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8412

Hi, in the datasheet of DRV8412/32 the maximum recommended voltage for PVDD is 52,5V. In my application the Power Supply ist 56V, this is within the limits of the absolute maximum Ratings.

Do I get problems when i supply the chip permanent with 56V?

I want to use DRV8412 in parallel mode as TEC and electrical heat driver, with a minimum switching frequency of 100kHz, and maximum DC output current of 4A. For the electrical heat I need the high supply voltage.

Regards!

  • Hi Florian,

Please refer to footnote 1 on the absolute maximum ratings.

The device may work, but operation is not implied above the recommended maximum values.

Also, voltage spikes can reach the absolute maximum voltages. Please take adequate precautions to ensure the absolute maximums are not violated. Section 9 of the datasheet provides some guidelines.
