Hello Team,

Please allow me to ask you question about DRV10975.

Can this device control the motor speed in closed loop (feedback speed/frequency information) itself, without using a micro processor ?

I am understanding that speed control could be controlled by analog voltage, PWM, or digital data. However, I am not sure if the device is monitoring the motor speed and whether it is controlling to be constant speed.

Hi Kawai,

DRV10975 monitors and controls speed internally. External microprocessor is not required for controlling speed. DRV10975 also outputs speed information on FG pin.

Different options like PWM, analog, I²C and VCC control are available to command speed for motor

Hello Krushal-san,

Thank you for your support. Regarding your answer, does it mean that the device will automatically regulates to the programmed motor speed even when environment or condition changes (temperature, load, etc.) ? I could not find the description in the datasheet how this is done.

Could you please explain us in specific ? How and where do you program the motor speed ?

DRV10975/DRV10983 controls output duty cycle at the bridge when Analog/PWM input is changed. It does not have capabity to regulate the speed irrespctive of voltage / load / temp variations.

We can not set the target speed in the device. Speed regulation is done by external means like MCU.

I am searching for a device which would, via I2C command, perform closed loop speed/RPM control (without a processor being in the loop). Does TI offer such a product for driving/controlling brushless DC motors?
