Hello Team,

Could you please explain us in detail about datasheet page15 "9.4.1.2 Motor Velocity Constant" ?

I could not understand what this will do and how to use this function.

* Our customer is thinking that this function could control the motor at certain speed with internal feedback. i.e. When motor speed decreases, the device automatically controls to speed up. And when motor speed increases, the device automatically controls to speed down.

Hi Kawai san,

This is motor mechanical parameter and it is also referred as Motor torque constant.

In BLDC control, driver has to keep track of rotor and Kt is parameter required for internal rotor observer.

DRV10975 doesnot do speed control, it only applies voltage level command by duty cycle of SPEED in signal.

Thank you for the information.

I recognized that this parameter must be programmed to a certain value based on the used BLDC motor for the device to understand rotor position. Am I correct ? Please correct me if my recognition is incorrect.

Kawai-san,

That is correct and you can refer to tuning document to measure Kt value.
