Hello Team,

Our customer is considering to place caps on OUT1 and OUT2 pins for motor noise an EMI reduction. Where should they place the caps ?

Case1) Between OUT1-GND and OUT2-GND

Case2) Between OUT1-OUT2

Which case would be better ? If there are any recommendation, please let us know.

Hi Kawai-san,

This is really a question for the motor manufacturer. I suggest you contact them for advice.

I have seen case 2 used in the past.

If placing capacitors to ground, care must be taken to size them properly. If the capacitors are too large, the inrush current can trip the OCP and the motor will not spin.
