Does DRV8301/2/3 feature IDRive/TDrive?

Hi,

Probably an easy question but I was reading the paper on IDrive/TDrive and wondered if the DRV8301 and its siblings have these features. They seem to be similar but those terms are not mentioned in the datasheet nor in the product pages.

Hi Chris,

The DRV8301/2/3 do not have IDRIVE/TDRIVE as described in the application report.

The DRV8301/3 do have a very early iteration of our adjustable gate driver architecture (aka IDRIVE). Both the DRV8301 and DRV8303 support tri level adjustable gate drive strengths (1.7A/2.3A, 0.7A/1A, 0.25A/0.5A).

I take it this is similar to other drivers where shoot through cannot be commanded but the DRV8301 does not do actual Vgs sensing like described for TDrive?

Hi Chris,

Similar to the gate current, the DRV8301 incorporates an early version of TDRIVE for the gate drive hand off. It utilizes a simple voltage monitor on the gates to detect their voltage but no internal timer.
